We are now sharing some fun timelapse sketches with you on YouTube. Several of the characters come from our children's books. You will see the Robot named Joe from "What's an Acorn?" and llamas from "Llama Lu" and the adorable dachshund from "I Love Wagging My Tail." There will be new ones every week for you to enjoy. Peewee was adopted on Saturday, April 16th, 2022. Yes, I said Peewee; that was not a typo. His name was changed to Kiwi a few days after he came home. He was nine years old and was a beautiful Short-Haired red dachshund.
After being “surrendered” twice in his short life and not being in his best health - he was severely overweight and had blotches on his skin – he found a home with me.
“You have 30 days to return him”, they said. It’s not an option. I have a home, and he needs one, so Peewee (now Kiwi) was stuck with me. It took several days before I saw his tail wag. The veterinarian confirmed it to be normal and said two weeks would pass before his true personality would show. So, how bad could it be? He’s a dachshund, after all.
Kiwi’s past was a mystery, but his behavior told a story of many firsts. The park was strange and exciting; the outside world seemed new. The car rides were pure bliss. His ears took flight in the wind, and he loved it. Everyone and everything had his full attention.
Kiwi, 10 pounds lighter and with a shiny coat, enjoys life at its fullest. Florida has been his home for the past year, and he loves his brother Randall (Cocker Spaniel rescue).
I Love Wagging by Tail has been significantly inspired by Kiwi. The mischievous bits of the story are what make this book Fiction.
Every dachshund parent enjoys the "colorful" personalities of their beloved doxies that can simultaneously fill their hearts while testing the lines of patients.

If you never heard of a Pitch Party and you are a self-published author you may want to check this out.
During a pitch party, which happen within a scheduled timeframe, writers pitch their manuscript on Twitter with a hashtag to make them searchable. Agents and editors read them, and if they want to see more of your work they will "like" or "heart" your tweet. If that happens, it means you have received an invitation to submit your query or manuscript to the agent! Exciting! Pitch parties is a quick and easy way to connect with people in the industry.
Before I share with you a list of popular Twitter pitch parties, let us review a few things that will make a difference in your experience.
The pitch is like the first one to two sentences of your query letter. It needs to get the agent's attention. What is the most exciting thing you can say about your story? Is it unique? Agents who participate scan through hundreds of tweets, there needs to be something that will grab their attention. The best way to go about it is to practice writing your pitch and when you think it's ready, read it to people that will tell you the truth.
Your picture and profile are important. How you present yourself to the industry as a whole is also being evaluated by the agent. Not just your pitch.
Each party has their own rules. Follow them carefully. Be sure to check out their website for their guidelines. For example, pitch parties start and end at specific times. They also may limit the number of times you can post your pitch within that time frame.
Also, make sure you do not like or heart someone else's pitch, that is for the agent to do. And once they do, be prepared to do the research. Each agent has his submission process. Go to their website and again, follow the rules.
Here is a list of popular Twitter pitch parties I know of. There may be more popping up since this has been an accessible and convenient way for agents to connect with writers.
